Summary
This website uses Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they read, and Google Ads to measure whether our advertising leads to contacts. Both set cookies in your browser. We do not use them to build advertising profiles, and we do not show you our ads elsewhere on the internet based on what you read here. We do not sell or rent information about you to anyone.
What Cookies Are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Cookies are commonly used to keep you signed in, remember preferences between visits, or build a record of your browsing activity for analytics and advertising. Related technologies include local storage, session storage, and tracking pixels, which serve similar purposes by different means.

All of the cookies below are set by Google on our behalf. None of them are required for the site to work — they exist so we can measure traffic and advertising results.

_gcl_au— expires after 90 days. Set by Google Ads. Records that an ad click brought you here, so that if you later contact us we can tell which advertising is working. -
_gcl_aw— expires after 90 days. Set by Google Ads, and only if you reached this site by clicking one of our ads. Serves the same measurement purpose as above.
This site does not use browser local storage or session storage.
What We Do Not Do
We think the absences are worth stating plainly, because this is a law firm and people arrive here with private problems:
- We do not run remarketing or retargeting. Reading about criminal defense or personal injury on this site will not cause our ads to follow you around the internet afterward.
- We do not build advertising audiences or interest profiles from your visit, and we have not enabled Google's advertising personalization features on this property.
- We do not send Google anything you type into the contact form. The name, email address, phone number, and message you submit go to us by email and are not shared with Google or any other advertising service.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade information about visitors.
How to Opt Out
You can decline this measurement entirely, and doing so has no effect on your ability to use this site or to reach us:
- Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, which stops Google Analytics on every site you visit.
- Adjust your Google Ad Settings to limit how Google uses data for advertising.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Every major browser allows this, and most offer a private browsing mode that discards cookies when you close the window.

A Note on Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console to understand how this site performs in Google Search, including which search terms lead people here. Search Console reports aggregated data from Google's own search systems. It does not place cookies on this website, does not run any script on these pages, and does not report the identity of individual visitors. Nothing about that reporting is tied to you personally.
What We Collect Without Cookies
Separately from the cookies described above:
- Standard server logs. Our web host records routine request information, including your Internet Protocol (IP) address, the pages requested, the date and time, and your browser type. This is ordinary web server activity used to operate and secure the site.
- Information you choose to send us. If you fill out the contact form, we receive what you typed — such as your name, email address, phone number, and message — by email. We do not receive it any other way. When a message sends successfully, Google Ads is told that a contact happened, but is not told anything about who you are or what you wrote.
Our Privacy Policy explains how that information is used, stored, and protected.
Third Party Requests
This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, and loads the Google Analytics and Google Ads script described above. Each of those requests means Google receives your IP address and browser information as part of serving the file. Google Fonts itself does not set cookies. Google's handling of the data it receives is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. No other outside service loads content into these pages.
Our pages link out to LinkedIn, Google, and the Chamber of Commerce. Those are ordinary links following one takes you to a site we do not control, which will apply its own cookie and privacy practices. Nothing is shared with them unless you click through.
Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no agreed industry standard for honoring it, and this site does not currently change its behavior based on that signal. The opt-out methods described above do work, and we would rather point you to something effective than claim to honor a signal that most of the web ignores.
Why There Is No Cookie Banner
Consent banners are required in places like the European Union, and for companies large enough to fall under certain state privacy laws. This firm is a small Bozeman practice serving Montana clients and is not subject to those requirements. We also think a consent pop-up is the wrong thing to put in front of someone who was just injured or just arrested and is trying to find a phone number. So instead of a banner, we have written this page plainly and given you working opt-out instructions above.

If we add, remove, or change the technology described here, we will update this page at or before the time that change goes live, and revise the date above. Your continued use of this website after such an update constitutes your acknowledgment of the revised notice.
